World Tech Tree
World tech tree is a visual representation of the key areas of World Network and a subset of potential improvements in those areas.
The user agent (the self-custodial wallet) is what connects the user to the system and executes all user actions. It enables the user to manage their own keys for both finance (Worldcoin tokens) and identity (World ID).
The Orb is an open source device that verifies the user is a unique human through specialized hardware and image capture.
“Operations” refers to the process in the physical world for verifying the user’s World ID. Primary participants in the operations are World Operators, who manage Orbs in physical locations for people to verify.
The protocol allows verified users to certify that they are humans in a privacy-preserving manner. The protocol contains all off- and on-chain components that are responsible for handling the authentication and verification.
World Network is designed to be governed by all of humanity. World Foundation, an independent entity, stewards World Network through the community governance journey.
